Who is Rich Terfry ?

Rich Terfry is the host for the show Radio 2 Drive aired on CBC Radio. Originally from Mt. Uniacke, Nova Scotia, Canada.

According to the CBC radio web site "Radio 2 Drive is hosted by innovative Canadian funk/hip hop artist and passionate music fan Rich Terfry (he performs as Buck 65). The country's premier destination for new music and emerging Canadian talent, Radio 2 Drive boasts 75 per cent Canadian content from a range of contemporary musical genres with a focus on singer-songwriters." [1]

According to a Wikipedia entry, "Rich Terfry is a Canadian hip hop artist, MC and turntablist. Underpinned by an extensive background in abstract hip hop, his more recent music has extensively incorporated blues, country, rock, folk and avant garde influences into a style commonly compared to Tom Waits and Beck." [2]

"He was first exposed to rap music in the mid-1980s while listening to CBC Stereo's late night show Brave New Waves, and then by listening to Halifax campus community radio station CKDU. CKDU then broadcast at only 33 watts, and he had to climb a tree in his yard to hear the station's hip hop show on his cheap transistor radio. Fascinated by hip hop, the young Terfry taught himself how to rap, DJ, and, later, to produce records." [3]
